HARRIS COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT NO. 11,
Appellant
V.
WILLIAM SOUTHERLAND AND JASON SOUTHERLAND
INDIVIDUALLY AND AS HEIRS TO AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
ESTATE OF JULIA SOUTHERLAND, DECEASED, Appellees
On Appeal from the 151st District Court
Harris County, Texas
Trial Court Case No. 2025-20031
MEMORANDUM OPINION
Appellant Harris County Emergency Services District No. 11 filed a notice of
appeal from the trial court’s November 19, 2025 Order Denying [Appellant’s]
Amended Plea to the Jurisdiction. On December 31, 2025, the Court issued an order
abating this appeal to allow the parties to finalize a settlement. On June 11, 2026,
the parties filed a Joint Motion to Dismiss stating that they “have reached a
settlement agreement to resolve their dispute” and requesting that we “dismiss the
appeal.”
We reinstate the appeal on the Court’s active docket, grant the parties’ joint
motion, and dismiss the appeal. Any pending motions are dismissed as moot.
PER CURIAM
Panel consists of Justices Guerra, Gunn, and Morgan.
