IN RE HANS DANE CHRISTIAN TRUELSON, Relator
Original Proceeding on Petition for Writ of Mandamus
MEMORANDUM OPINION
Relator, Hans Dane Christian Truelson, proceeding pro se, filed a petition for
writ of mandamus in which he contends that, despite his demands, the official court
reporter of the 280th District Court of Harris County, Texas, has failed and refused
to provide the transcript “from the trial” in the underlying trial court cause.1
1
The underlying case is Briana Camille Truelson v. Hans Dane Christian Truelson,
Cause No. 2026-40010, in the 280th District Court of Harris County, Texas, the
Honorable Damiane Dianne Curvey presiding.
Relator’s petition requests that the Court order the official court reporter of the 280th
District Court of Harris County, Texas, or any substitute reporter, to produce the
transcript “from the trial.”
This Court may issue a writ of mandamus against judges of a district, statutory
county, statutory probate, or a county court in the court of appeals district. See TEX.
GOV’T CODE ANN. § 22.221(b). Relator’s petition for writ of mandamus requests
that this Court issue a writ of mandamus against the official, or substitute, court
reporter for the 280th District Court of Harris County, Texas. The Court has no
authority to issue a writ of mandamus against a court reporter unless they are
interfering with our appellate jurisdiction. See TEX. GOV’T CODE ANN. § 22.221(a);

Dallas Feb. 28, 2020, orig. proceeding) (mem. op.).
We conclude that relator has failed to establish he is entitled to mandamus
relief, and therefore, the Court denies relator’s petition for writ of mandamus. We
dismiss any pending motions as moot.

Panel consists of Justices Rivas-Molloy, Guerra, and Gunn.
