IN THE COURT OF CRIMINAL APPEALS
OF TEXAS
NO. WR-97,606-01
EX PARTE SAMUEL CHRISTOPHER RANDLES, Applicant
ON ORIGINAL APPLICATION
FOR A WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS
CAUSE NO. 322-619733-17 IN THE 322ND DISTRICT COURT
TARRANT COUNTY
Per curiam.
OPINION
In an original application for a writ of habeas corpus, Applicant challenges a
direct criminal contempt commitment imposed by the 322nd District Court of
Tarrant County on April 14, 2026.
On June 11, 2026, this Court filed and set the application for submission,
directed the filing of briefs, and authorized the trial court to release Applicant to
bail or a personal bond. On June 16, 2026, the trial court signed an order stating
2
that the sentences for direct criminal contempt were fulfilled as of June 12, 2026,
and that order was filed in this Court on June 25, 2026.
Applicant is not in custody for the contempt commitment and nothing
remains for this Court to remedy. Accordingly, this Court’s order of June 11, 2026,
is VACATED in its entirety, and Applicant’s motion for leave to file an original
application for a writ of habeas corpus is DENIED.
