Opinion issued August 13, 2026 In The Court of Appeals For The First District of Texas β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” NO. 01-26-00769-CV β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” IN RE THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE ASSEMBLIES OF GOD, Relator Original Proceeding on Petition for Writ of Mandamus MEMORANDUM OPINION Relator, The General Council of the Assemblies of God, filed a petition for writ of mandamus challenging two trial court orders related to the motions of real parties in interest, John Doe 1 and John Doe 2, to compel a second deposition of Donna Barrett, including a May 27, 2026 order and June 29, 2026.1 Relator’s 1 The underlying case is John Doe 1 and John Doe 2 v. The General Council of the Assemblies of God, South Texas District Council Assemblies of God, Inc., a/k/a South Texas District Council Assemblies of God, Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, petition requested that the Court grant the writ of mandamus and direct the trial court to β€œvacate its order[s] granting the second deposition of Donna Barrett.” We conclude that relator has failed to establish it is entitled to mandamus relief, and therefore, the Court denies relator’s petition for writ of mandamus.
