The Court of Appeals hereby passes the following order:
A27A0465. CATHERINE CORKREN v. DAVID MAYNARD et al.
In this suit for violations of the Georgia Open Meeting Act, the trial court
granted in part and denied in part plaintiff Catherine Corkren’s motion for summary
judgment.1 Corkren, who is proceeding pro se, seeks to appeal only from the denial in
part of her motion for summary judgment, and the defendants have filed a motion to
dismiss. We agree that dismissal is required.
Pursuant to OCGA § 9-11-56(h), “[a]n order granting summary judgment on
any issue or as to any party shall be subject to review by appeal.” (Emphasis supplied).

accordance with OCGA § 5-6-34(b), the interlocutory appeal statute. See OCGA
§ 9-11-56(h). In her notice of appeal, Corkren seeks to appeal only the denial of her
motion for summary judgment as to three issues. In order to do so, she was required
to use the interlocutory appeal procedures — including obtaining a certificate of
immediate review from the trial court. See OCGA § 5-6-34(b). Having failed to do so,

she is not entitled to a direct appeal. For these reasons, the defendants’ motion to
dismiss is hereby GRANTED, and this appeal is hereby DISMISSED.
