FIRST DISTRICT COURT OF APPEAL STATE OF FLORIDA _____________________________ No. 1D19-4443 _____________________________ PATRICK HAWKINS, Appellant, v. STATE OF FLORIDA, Appellee. _____________________________ On appeal from the Circuit Court for Jefferson County. Dawn Caloca-Johnson, Judge. July 21, 2020 PER CURIAM. AFFIRMED. See § 921.1402(1), Fla. Stat. (2019) (making 25- year judicial review available only for offenses committed on or after July 1, 2014); see also Pedroza v. State, 291 So. 3d 541, 549 (Fla. 2020) (receding from principle in cases like Kelsey and Johnson “that resentencing is required for all juvenile offenders serving a sentence longer than twenty years without the opportunity for early release based on demonstrated maturity and rehabilitation”); id. at 548 (holding that “a juvenile offender’s sentence does not implicate Graham, and therefore Miller, unless it meets the threshold requirement of being a life sentence or the functional equivalent of a life sentence”). ROWE, MAKAR, and TANENBAUM, JJ., concur. _____________________________ Not final until disposition of any timely and authorized motion under Fla. R. App. P. 9.330 or 9.331. _____________________________ Patrick Hawkins, pro se, Appellant. Ashley Moody, Attorney General, and Barbara Debelius, Assistant Attorney General, Tallahassee, for Appellee. 2
