SUPREME COURT OF ARKANSAS
Opinion Delivered: October 8, 2026
IN RE ARKANSAS COMMITTEE ON
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
PER CURIAM
On August 19, 2026, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders appointed Cory A. Cox as
a temporary Special Justice on this Court, with an initial term expiring December 31, 2026,
or upon the return of Associate Justice Barbara W. Webb, whichever comes first. Justice
Cox thereby vacated his position as the statewide at-large member of Panel A of this Court’s
Committee on Professional Conduct. Effective immediately, H. Wayne Young of Little
Rock is appointed to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term, expiring December 31,
2031. Because more than two years remain in the term, Mr. Young may be reappointed for
one additional six-year term.
On August 24, 2026, G. Lawrence Jegley resigned his position as the second
congressional district member of Panel A on the Committee. Effective immediately, W.
Trent Minner of Little Rock is appointed to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term,
expiring December 31, 2026. Because less than two years remain in the term, Mr. Minner
may be reappointed for two full six-year terms.
The Court appreciates Mr. Young’s and Mr. Minner’s willingness to serve on this
important committee and expresses its gratitude to Justice Cox and Mr. Jegley for their
valuable service.
Special Justice CORY COX joins.
WEBB, J., not participating.
