COURT OF APPEALS
THIRTEENTH DISTRICT OF TEXAS
CORPUS CHRISTI – EDINBURG
JADE RAVEN HANNA, Appellant,
v.
THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee.
ON APPEAL FROM THE 156TH DISTRICT COURT
OF LIVE OAK COUNTY, TEXAS
MEMORANDUM OPINION
Before Justices Silva, Peña, and West
Memorandum Opinion by Justice Peña
This cause is before the Court on appellant’s motion to dismiss this appeal. On
August 21, 2026, we abated the appeal and remanded the case to the trial court due to
appellant’s failure to timely file a brief. Now, it appears appellant no longer wishes to
proceed with the appeal and requests that the appeal be dismissed.
The motion to dismiss was signed by both appellant and counsel. We find the
motion meets the requirement of Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 42.2(a) that
appellant and attorney must sign a written motion to dismiss the appeal. See TEX. R. APP.
P. 42.2(a).
Accordingly, we reinstate the appeal and grant the motion to dismiss. Without
passing on the merits of the case, the appeal is hereby dismissed. Having dismissed the
appeal at appellant’s request, no motion for rehearing will be entertained.
