TEXAS COURT OF APPEALS, THIRD DISTRICT, AT AUSTIN NO. 03-26-00722-CR Lorelai Taylor, Appellant v. The State of Texas, Appellee FROM THE COUNTY COURT AT LAW NO. 3 OF WILLIAMSON COUNTY NO. 25-07324-3, THE HONORABLE DOUG ARNOLD, JUDGE PRESIDING MEMORANDUM OPINION Appellant Lorelai Taylor has filed a pro se notice of appeal from the district court’s March 10, 2026 order granting the State’s motion to dismiss its information charging Taylor with the misdemeanor offense of unlawful restraint. 1 Taylor filed her notice of appeal on August 6, 2026, and it is untimely. See Tex. R. App. P. 26.2(a)(1) (providing for 30-day deadline for filing notice of appeal in criminal case when no motion for new trial is filed). Additionally, a defendant may not appeal a trial court’s order dismissing the charge filed against her. See Bohannan v. State, 352 S.W.3d 47, 48 (Tex. App.—Fort Worth 2011, pet. ref’d); Petty v. State, 800 S.W.2d 582, 583-84 (Tex. App.—Tyler 1990, no pet.); see also Reece v. State, No. 03-25-00433-CR, 2025 WL 3038072, at *1 (Tex. App.—Austin Oct. 31, 2025, pet. ref’d) (mem. op.). Accordingly, we dismiss the appeal for want of jurisdiction. __________________________________________ Gisela D. Triana, Justice 1 In her notice of appeal, Taylor characterizes the trial court’s order as one “imposing sanctions” against her. However, no sanctions appear in the order.
