James Brandon Bartels,
Appellant
v.
The State of Texas,
Appellee
On appeal from the
19th District Court of McLennan County, Texas
Judge Thomas C. West, presiding
Trial Court Cause No. 2025-1450-C1
JUSTICE WESTERFELD delivered the opinion of the Court.
MEMORANDUM OPINION
On July 23, 2026, James Brandon Bartels filed an appeal of a judgment
of conviction for which sentence was imposed on July 22, 2026. Counsel for
Bartels has filed a motion to dismiss the appeal, stating that the Clerk’s
Record, filed in this Court on October 1, 2026, indicates that Bartels, his trial
counsel, and the trial court signed a waiver of Bartels’s right to appeal on July
27, 2026.
Our review of the Clerk’s Record supports Bartels’s Counsel’s claim.
Bartels’s motion is granted. Accordingly, this appeal is dismissed.
