Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia ATLANTA,____________________ October 05, 2026 The Court of Appeals hereby passes the following order: A27A0435. RALPH WILLIAMS v. THE STATE. In 2017, Ralph Williams pleaded guilty to murder, three counts of felony murder, and other offenses, and the trial court imposed a sentence of life imprisonment plus 25 years. Williams filed a motion for an out-of-time appeal and other pro se motions, which the trial court denied. Williams filed a notice of appeal to this Court. We, however, lack jurisdiction. The Supreme Court of Georgia currently exercises jurisdiction over all โ€œnon- death-penalty murder appeals,โ€ and this Court is required to transfer such cases. See Hart v. State, 322 Ga. 1, 10(1) (917 SE2d 631) (2025). But see Coleman v. State, Case No. S26A0859 (August 13, 2026) (announcing the Supreme Courtโ€™s intent to cease exercising direct appellate jurisdiction in non-death-penalty murder cases docketed after July 1, 2027). Accordingly, we hereby TRANSFER this appeal to the Supreme Court for disposition.
