IN THE COURT OF APPEAL OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
SECOND APPELLATE DISTRICT
DIVISION SIX
In re A.L., a Person Coming 2d Crim. No. B353407
Under the Juvenile Court (Super. Ct. No. LB0842A)
Law. (Los Angeles County)
THE PEOPLE,
Plaintiff and Respondent,
v.
A.L.,
Defendant and Appellant.
A.L. appeals the juvenile court’s denial of his suppression
motion pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code section 700.1.
Following the denial of his motion, A.L. waived his constitutional
rights, admitted he carried a concealed, unregistered firearm on
his person (Pen. Code, § 25400, subd. (a)(2)), and the juvenile
court placed him on diversion.
On July 12, 2025, two police officers were on foot patrol in
an apartment complex where a nearby shooting occurred the
previous night. Seventeen-year-old A.L. was observed loitering
with a group of individuals in the complex’s parking lot. As
officers approached the group, A.L.’s “eyes widened” and he
clutched the front of his waistband with both hands while trying
to hide behind others. One of the officers observed a “bulge” in
A.L.’s waistband which was consistent with a firearm. He
conducted a pat-down search of A.L.’s person and immediately
felt the handle of a pistol, which was seized.
We appointed counsel to represent A.L. in this appeal.
After examination of the record, counsel filed an opening brief
raising no issues pursuant to People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d.
436 (Wende). On August 21, 2026, we sent a letter advising A.L.
that he had 30 days to submit any grounds for appeal, or
contentions, or argument which he wished us to consider. We
have received no such submission from A.L.
We have reviewed the entire record and are satisfied that
counsel has fully complied with his responsibilities and that no
arguable issue exists. (Wende, supra, 25 Cal.3d. at p. 441.) The
judgment is affirmed.
