USDC No. 2:24-CV-168
______________________________
Before Stewart, Richman, and Higginson, Circuit Judges.
Per Curiam: *
Roberto Salinas, proceeding pro se, appeals the dismissal of his
42 U.S.C. § 1983 complaint. He has also filed a motion for sanctions and a
motion for reconstruction. The appellee asserts that this court lacks
jurisdiction because Salinas failed to file a timely notice of appeal.

No. 25-40723
The time limit for noticing a civil appeal is set by statute; therefore, a
timely notice of appeal is a jurisdictional prerequisite in civil cases. See
28 U.S.C. § 2107(a); Bowles v. Russell, 551 U.S. 205, 214 (2007). Because
Salinas’s notice of appeal was untimely, we lack jurisdiction over his appeal.
See Bowles, 551 U.S. at 214. Accordingly, the appeal is DISMISSED for
lack of jurisdiction, and Salinas’s motions are DENIED.
